Guided Walking Tour of Capri and Anacapri

For people who reach Capri on their own and want a guide

If you land at Marina Grande on the ferry from Naples, Sorrento or the Amalfi Coast, or you are staying on the island, you do not need a day trip with the crossing included: you need someone to take you to the right places in the right order, without the bus queue. This Capri guided tour is a walking tour with a licensed guide who tells the story of the island, from the villas of Tiberius to the travellers of the nineteenth century, as you go.

Anacapri

From the port the minibus climbs to Anacapri, the upper and quieter town: white lanes, the church of San Michele with its majolica floor, workshops making sandals and perfume. From here the chairlift goes up Monte Solaro, the highest point of the island; the ride is optional, the ticket is not included, and the guide tells you how much time you have.

Capri town and the Gardens of Augustus

The minibus brings you back down to Capri, where you walk: the Piazzetta, piazza Umberto I, with its clock tower and café tables; the lanes around it, where you taste the limoncello made from the lemons of the coast; the Gardens of Augustus, entrance included, the terraces above the Faraglioni, Marina Piccola and the bends of via Krupp. There the guide leaves you in the centre, with the map of the island and advice for the rest of the day.

You meet at 10:15 at the HP Travel office in via Don Giobbe Ruocco 51, at the port of Marina Grande, a few steps from the ferry piers. Adults € 60, children aged 3 to 6 € 55, infants up to 2 free. Included: licensed guide, minibus on the island, map, entrance to the Gardens of Augustus and limoncello tasting. Not included: chairlift, other tickets and lunch. Comfortable shoes, because the tour is almost all on foot and uphill.

With the boat trip around the island

If you want the coast as well, the guided tour of Capri and Anacapri with boat trip leaves at 10:30 from the same office and adds the cruise past the grottos and the Faraglioni: six hours, € 84.
