What it is
The Blue Grotto is a sea cave on the north-west coast of Capri, below Anacapri. Sunlight enters through an underwater opening and turns the water and the walls a deep blue. The entrance is a gap in the rock just over a metre high.

How to get from Capri to the Blue Grotto, and how to get in
From Capri town there are two ways to the grotto. By sea, on the boats leaving from Marina Grande, which circle the island and stop outside the entrance. By land, with the bus from Anacapri to the Grotta Azzurra stop and a flight of steps down to the sea. Either way you step into small rowing boats and, lying back, pass under the low entrance. In rough seas the grotto is closed: check conditions the same morning.
The tour with a grotto stop
Our Capri boat tour with a Blue Grotto stop leaves from Marina Grande, circles the island and stops outside the grotto for those who want to go in. From € 25; the grotto ticket is paid separately.
