Rather go on your own?

There is also the direct HP Travel ferry from Sorrento, returning in the afternoon. Timetable and tickets

Later start, no transfer, lower price

Compared with our Capri minicruise from Vico Equense with pick-up, at € 89, this departure has two differences: you come to the port of Seiano yourself, and you leave at 10:00 rather than early morning. In exchange it costs € 10 less and it includes the limoncello. For people staying in Seiano or Vico Equense with the port within reach, it is the better deal.

The day

The boat leaves Marina d’Equa along the cliffs of the peninsula and crosses to Marina Grande, where the town of Capri charges its € 5 landing fee. The assistant hands out the map and tells you when to be back; the hours in between are yours. Capri town and the Gardens of Augustus are a funicular ride away, Anacapri and the chairlift up Monte Solaro a bus ride, with every ticket paid on the spot. The Blue Grotto is not on the programme, though the assistant can tell you how to fit it into the free time; our Blue Grotto guide has the details.

In the afternoon the boat goes round the island with the tour leader on board, through the Marvellous, White and Green grottos, past Villa Malaparte and the Faraglioni, and under the Arch of Love if the sea is calm enough; the limoncello is served during the cruise. Then back to Seiano.

Price and notes

Adults € 79, children aged 3 to 6 € 69, infants up to 2 free, with no seasonal changes. The price covers the crossing, the cruise, the assistant, the map and the tasting; the landing fee, lunch and tickets on the island are paid on the spot. Shoes for walking uphill, a hat and sun cream. The programme depends on the sea. For the crossing only, from the same port, there is the Seiano to Capri ferry; all island departures are on the Capri boat tours page, and the Capri map helps with the free time.
