The island has two towns: Capri, above Marina Grande port, and Anacapri, higher up to the west. From Marina Grande the funicular takes you to the Piazzetta in a few minutes; buses and taxis go to Anacapri.
The Blue Grotto is on the north-west coast, below Anacapri. The Faraglioni are to the south-east and can be seen well from the Gardens of Augustus or, even better, from a boat.
Capri in a day
With one day it pays to start from the sea: a one-hour Capri boat tour from Marina Grande, then the funicular to the Piazzetta and the Gardens of Augustus. If you want Anacapri too, choose the guided tour of Capri and Anacapri.
